BrewDog Hardcore IPA

I had this beer while at Botica de la Cerveza in Malaga. It was reasonably priced at just a bit over four euro with the charge to drink it in the shop included (for comparison a bar in Hamburg which carries a few bottles of BrewDog beer charges over 8 euro for some of them which is beyond ridiculous). It was orangish brown with a nice head. It had a great full hoppy nose overflowing with tropical fruits, citrus, rind, and pine. Some faint caramel was also trying to get noticed. The flavor came on strong with an abundance of bitterness and the aforementioned hops but, considering the bottle touted 150 IBUs it wasn't quite as bitter as I expected it would be. The citrus, rind, tropical fruits, and caramel definitely all worked well together and made for an exciting beer after a hard day of storming Gibralfaro Castle and the Alcazaba. Despite the hefty 9.2% ABV I felt this beer went down smoothly and that I'd be able to drink several. I'm not sure if that would have worked out in my favor but, I'll possibly have to give it a try in the future.

Overall: 9/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
