St. Bernardus Tripel

This Tripel showed up golden with orange highlights and a head so massive it was obvious that the bottle had been agitated on the ride back from Belgium. Pear, apple, flowers, alcohol, sweetness, and summer made for an enticing aroma. While the aroma reminded me of summer the flavor transitioned more towards fall with spicy notes of clove and nutmeg. There was also a malty bite to this beer with a taste of yeasty bread that was somewhat reminiscent of sourdough. Despite the hefty 8% ABV I couldn't detect alcohol in the flavor. Tripels aren't my favorite beer style, but I still really enjoyed this beer.

Overall: 9/10

Hi, I'm Colin, I love a good hoppy IPA, but I can find immense enjoyment in a solid session beer, imperial stout, quadrupel or a nostalgic beer from my past.
