Herold Cerny Lezák 13° seemed like a good choice to have with my Brewmaster's Goulash while at Pivovarský Klub. It appeared solid black with a large tan head. I could smell plenty of roasted malts and a general bitterness in the aroma. The flavor was decent with plenty of roast flavor and lighter notes of chocolate, caramel, and coffee. It had a light sweetness that faded into the bitter finish. It worked okay with my goulash, but the flavors from the beer were a touch heavy for the meal. I liked this beer but wouldn't bother drinking it again.
Overall: 7/10
