I wasn't sure what to have while looking over the beer board at Ma Che Siete Venuti A Fà. I decided to take a risk on a beer and brewer I'd never heard when I asked for the Vento Forte PRO Follower. I wasn't sure what I would get but felt like a DIPA would start my evening off in the correct direction. I received a slightly hazy and golden yellow beer with a small white head. I could smell some zesty and hoppy fruit notes, but it was overall muted and smelled kind of sweet. I was surprised when I took a sip and despite having some hops in the flavor it was heavy on caramel, grain, and cereal. The grass and spice flavor from the hops were there but not in the big way I expected. It was smooth in my mouth. The bitterness was there but on the low side for a DIPA. I found this beer pretty good, but it wasn't at all what I was expecting.
